Tātou was developed to make easy work of tracking Jobs that are tracked and paid on contract/piece rate. Loading data for Clients all the way down to Row information allows users to optimise features that make Tātou special.

From the Clients page click the Green Arrow.pngImage Modified to drill down from Clients, to Locations, to Blocks, and finally Rows.

Tātou Terminology Review:

Client = A group of locations (properties)

Location = A property composed of a group of blocks (aka vineyard, orchard, farm)

Block = Designated area of your property that are uniquely identified (aka, field, patch, paddock)

Row = Row a grouping of units

Units = a unit designation used to track and pay work completed on contract or performance rate type tasks (aka vines, trees, bays, m2, etc)

Total Units = The sum of units within a Row, Block, or Location.

Tip

Pro Tip - When deciding how to set up Clients, Locations, and Blocks - think about how you direct employees where to go. When Jobs are created in the Field App employees are asked to Select:

  • Client,

  • Location,

  • Block(s)

Before starting a Job, so these need to make sense to your employees, to ensure Jobs are accurately entered in the app.

Key Features:

  • Tracking Contract Work by Row: We’re pretty proud of this feature, but to be able to “Assign Rows” in the Field App, Blocks must first have Rows with Units/Row data uploaded in the Office App.

  • Tracking Contract Work by Block: It is still possible to track contract/performance work in the Field App without Row data. However, the Block will have to have “Total Units,” and Field app users will not be able to “Assign Rows,” and will have to instead use “Simple Summary” to track units complete.

Note

Progress Tracking and Reporting use Unit Completion as a metric, Jobs that do not track units, or track units inaccurately (i.e. adding units completed to a block with 0 total units) will mean certain features are not as helpful as they could be.

  • Status: Clients, Locations, and Blocks can be made Active or Inactive.

  • Edit Location Information: Clicking the Green Arrow.pngImage Modified will open the Locations Page where users can edit Location Information and displays a list of all Blocks at that Location.

  • Edit Block Information: Clicking the Green Arrow.pngImage Modified will open the Block Page where users can edit Block Information and displays a list of all of the Rows and Row Units for that block.

  • Edit Row Information: Clicking the “Edit” button → Edit.pngImage Modified ← for a row will allow you to edit individual row information. For larger edit requirements, the bulk upload is a better option to make changes.

  • Bulk Import Client Information: Using templates provided, or a Client (including Locations, Blocks and Rows) Export, Users can use the “Import” button → import button.pngImage Modified ← to add new information or update existing information on your organisations:

Info

When Bulk Importing Client Information you can either “SKIP EXISTING ROWS” or “UPDATE EXISTING ROWS” depending on what information you are uploading.

Note

Be extremely careful with formatting of files before upload - if numbers are used for names of Blocks or Rows unintentional decimal places in the upload file may cause duplicates to occur.

Warning

Not all Columns are required to be filled out in the upload template, but if required fields are missing the data will not be uploaded. Review Bulk importing Clients, Locations, Blocks & Rows for detailed information on what columns require data.
