Data entry errors happen to the best of us, so knowing how to find them, how to fix them, and how to prevent them in the future can save users a lot of time.

Contract Rate Job Errors

Below you will find a list of common data entry errors that occur with contract rate jobs, what these errors can impact, where to quickly check for them, how to correct them, and potential ways to prevent them in the future.

Under Pay Crew

  • all workers will be topped up to their minimum rate regardless of units complete

Excessive Top Ups

  • Top up values be above what is actually required

Block Costing

  • Block costing calculations will be inaccurate

Jobs Menu → Timesheets Page

  • Filter to Date Range

  • Filter to Contract Rate Type

  • Sort “Rate” Column Lowest to Highest

  • Any timesheets with $0.00 rates will appear at the top of the table

Add Unit Rate to Job

  • Open the Job by clicking the TEAL arrow → Green Arrow.png

  • Edit Job Summary

  • Add the correct Unit Rate to the task

  • Save Changes

Admin → Tasks

  • add default contract rates to Tasks

Operations → Scheduled Tasks

  • Use scheduled tasks and add unit rates if not already linked to the Task

Unit rate typos (e.g. $0.5 instead of $0.05)

UNDER or OVER Pay Crew

Excessive Top Ups

  • If rate is lower - top ups will occur, but hourly rates will likely be very low instead of $0.00 like the first issue

Block Costing

  • Block costing calculations will be inaccurate

Jobs Menu → Timesheets Page

  • Filter to Date Range

  • Filter to Contract Rate Type

  • Sort “HOURLY RATE” Column Highest to Lowest

    • Any check the unit rate of any timesheet with an hourly rate exceeding OR not meeting expected hourly rate range

  • Sort “TASK” column to compare unit rates for the same tasks

Dashboard → Performance

Edit Unit Rate in the Job

  • Open the Job by clicking the TEAL arrow → Green Arrow.png

  • Edit Job Summary

  • Add the correct Unit Rate to the task

  • Save Changes

Admin → Tasks

  • add default contract rates to Tasks

Operations → Scheduled Tasks

  • Use scheduled tasks and add unit rates if not already linked to the Task
