"Could not start Scheduled Task" error

"Could not start Scheduled Task" error

Problem

An error appears that says "Could not start Scheduled Task..." after trying to start a job

Solution

This error message may appear for a few different reasons:

  • Press “Reload Data”

  • Try starting a Job again

  • If the message appears again, notify your manager or Office App admin to inspect the Scheduled task

There are a few reasons this message may appear:

  • The Scheduled Task was created using a recently created Task, and the Field App user needs to reload data to their mobile or tablet

  • The Task itself has been marked inactive in the Office App

  • The Field App user does not have the necessary Roles to execute Jobs against that type of Task
