Where Can Rates be Added?

There are several options of where Rates can be added. To understand how these rates interact click here.

Hourly rates CANNOT be backdated. To ensure hourly rates are implemented when required, make sure to update these fields prior to the start date requirement.

Organisation Minimum Hourly Rate

This ensures no one in your organisation is paid under the minimum legally required minimum hourly rate. It can be updated in advance of wage changes using the Date Selector tool, and is good to keep updated from a compliance perspective.

Employee Minimum Hourly Rate

This field applies a specific hourly rate to your employee. It can be updated in advance of wage changes using the Date Selector tool.

Role Employee Hourly Rate & Sales Hourly Rate

Roles can apply base hourly rates for different employee roles within your Organisation, and/or Invoicing rates. However, Roles do not have to have hourly rates or default sales hourly rates if this is not your chosen way to determine hourly rates.

Employees are required to have a Default Role, but can also have any number of additional roles.

If using Tātou’s Invoicing Feature, be aware that invoice lines will be created by Role.

Task Rates and Invoicing Rates

Tasks can have employee hourly and/or unit rates as well as invoicing hourly and/or unit rates. By applying rates to tasks Jobs created in the field app will pull through these rates depending on the rate type (hourly/contract/performance).

Note: If you have both hourly and unit rates on a single Task, and crew are working on Contract or Performance but require top ups - they will NOT be topped up to the Task Hourly Rate

Job Rate

Employee’s who have permission to Set Job Rate as part of their Permissions Group are able to edit the Job Rate when the Job is created. This setting allows people who are creating the Jobs to either raise or lower the rates (hourly or unit rate) before syncing or submitting the job.

How Rates Interact

Employee’s will always be paid at the HIGHEST hourly rate when there are combinations of Rates contributing to their Hourly Rate Timesheet.
